When in the company of giants it’s important to pay proper attention to the silverware. Our latest BIG forging is a spoon measuring 28 inches in length. The bowl is 2 inches deep and measures 5 inches at its widest point – that’s capacity for a lot of sugar lumps!

Our Giant Spoon started life as a foot-long bar of 6mm solid sterling silver and was hot-forged over the course of a week to achieve the length, then filed to perfect the scalloped handle.

There’s still quite a bit of work to do but if you’re interested in seeing the Giant Spoon as a work in progress, why not visit our stand at the West Dean Arts & Craft Festival in Sussex next weekend? If you can’t make it, not to worry! We’ll be at the Bovey Tracey Contemporary Craft Festival in Devon the following weekend, 8th-10th June.

For details of other events we are doing this year, see the Events page on our website.
