Pancake Day!

[wpvideo xlYfvdkd autoplay=true loop=true]

How do you like yours? The traditional sugar and squeeze of lemon or do you like to spice things up with a sprinkle of cinnamon?

We did Pancake Day in style this year with your our solid silver crepe pan and brand new silver side ladle.

The britannia silver of the pan is an excellent heat conductor – don’t worry about the handle, all you need is a handle glove. We get ours from Le Creuset and we like the red one but they’re available in four different colours.

A modest drop of oil creates the perfect non-stick surface for your pancake – we like to use Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil as an alternative to vegetable or sunflower oil.

Anyone who’s ever been put in charge of the pan on Pancake Day knows that the key to the perfect pancake is the consistency of the batter and the pouring technique. Once you’ve mixed your eggs, flour, milk (and don’t forget the pinch of salt) what you need is a comfortable pouring utensil. Not too much, not too little – our sterling silver side ladle is just the right size for measured portions and a steady stream of batter into the pan.

Whether you’re a champion flipper or prefer to tip your pancake straight onto the plate, the proof, as they say, is in the eating!

Once you’ve scraped the last droplet of batter from bowl and you’re finished with the pan just wash it up with green Fairy liquid and dry with a tea towel – unless you’re busy devouring the last pancake, in which case just leave it to drain.

Don’t forget, we can make our pans in any size to suit whatever you like to cook, from omelettes to risottos!
